Missions are an endeavor beyond our local congregation to fulfill the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) by making disciples, planting churches, and aiding in the growth and development of newly-planted churches among all peoples, tribes, and tongues. With this perspective in mind, we partner with like-minded mission agencies in the support of both short-term and career missionaries who seek to bring the Gospel to the lost. These missionaries may be serving in evangelistic, translation, or discipleship positions, as well as in positions of missionary support, either within or outside of the United States.
Marlon and Beverly Grace Ingco
Children: Maureen, Brex, Braden, and Mira
The Ingco Family has been called to serve God overseas by planting village churches in several provinces of the Philippines, including San Fernando, La Union and Pangasinan. They are prayerfully seeking to start another church in the National Capital Region, which is near the place Marlon was born and grew up.
Missionaries Mark and Nancy Sheppard
Children: John-Mark (missionary in NW Liberia with wife Sara and three children), Melodie (missionary in Kenya with husband Kevin and three children), Nathan (lives in Virginia with wife Kelsey and three children), Heidi (lives in Maryland), Jared (lives in Virginia), Jonah (17 years old and lives in Liberia with Mark and Nancy)
The Sheppard family began their mission work in Liberia in 1986 to set up a radio station in the town of Tappita. Mark also taught in the Bible school and worked with other ministries in their area. Nancy worked with the wives of the Bible school students, homeschooled their children, and took care of the home. During the civil war in Liberia (1989-2003), the Sheppards lived in the Ivory Coast and worked with Liberian refugees and other English-speaking peoples from other countries. In 2004, they moved back to Liberia to resume their ministry. For more than 65 years, the Baptist Mid-Missions’ missionaries have been used by God to preach to, encourage, and train many Liberians to spread the gospel in their country. The fruits of these labors include church plantings and repair projects, supplying materials and direction to four Bible schools, organizing conferences, and ministering to the specific spiritual needs of the Liberian people. Currently, Mark serves as Dean of Theology at the Jake Memorial Baptist College, and Nancy serves as Dean of Education. Most Friday evenings, the Sheppards also invite a group of 16-36 people — a mix of nationalities, some believers and some not — to their home for food, fellowship, encouragement, advice, and evangelism.
Mark and Esther Lydia Priem
Daughter: Hannah
The Priem family ministers to the people of Odessa through regular evangelism and church planting. They spread the gospel by distributing tracts and Meals on Wheels every night of the week. There is nothing like sharing the gospel after filling up a plate of food for a hungry soul!
Missionary Mary Lou Kappenman (85 years old)
Widow since 1984 with three adult children: Patrick, Curtis, and Karen
Mary Lou is currently ministering to her neighborhood by handing out tracts and sharing the gospel with locals she meets. She helps the secretaries in her church every Friday to prepare for Sunday services as well. Given her age and the physical strain it causes, Mary Lou will retire soon from traveling to other small towns around her city to minister. She previously served as a secretary in their Bible College, going around to small pueblos (towns) twice a week to spread God’s love and Word.
Missionaries Jon and Lorena Templeton
Children: Norah, Alina, Lucas, Zayn, and Owen
The Templetons minister to the northwestern regions of Spain primarily through church planting, engaging their community, evangelism, and publicly proclaiming God’s Word weekly. God has also given them the resources needed to teach, train, and equip the saints in their area for further ministry work. Their deepest desire is to bring glory to God in all these ministry opportunities as long as God calls.
Missionaries Alex and Nicole Boyle
Children: Michal (daughter) and newborn son
Alex and Nicole have served the Lord in Namibia (Southern Africa) for three years. Alex was the director of a Christian camp, discipleship, and retreat center called Paardeberg Mountain Retreat. Since 2024, the Boyle family has been on deputation to go to Namibia. Their plan to advance the gospel starts with planting Bible-believing churches in each community of Namibia. Their long-term vision is to train Namibian nationals in practical theology and deploy them into the church-planting movement so that the good news of Jesus will flourish throughout the country.
Missionaries Stanley and Ruth Templeton
Children: Nathan, Jessica, Jonathan, and Amy
Stan and his wife are church planters in Peru via radio ministry. Stan is presently serving on the pastoral staff of Faith Baptist Church in Lima, which supports 15 other missionaries around the world and 3 Christian ministries (camp, seminary, and radio). The Templetons have 12 radio stations and 4 affiliate stations that use all of their programming. In addition to launching new stations in the future, Stan propels the gospel forward by teaching seminary courses online, speaking at conferences, and writing books.
Missionaries Sergio and Andrea Duarte
Children: Patricia, Martin (married to Belen), and Melanie
Sergio and his family have been ministering in Uruguay for the past 29 years as church planters and training locals in ministry. The most recent years have been spent serving at a church plant in Montevideo, where they work alongside the pastor and his family. Sergio also leads FEBU (College of Biblical Studies of Uruguay), and their desire is to train up the next generation of leaders.
