Social fellowship — rooted in the Greek word "koinonia” — can be defined as “sharing a common life with other believers.” In order to build a stronger community within our church body, our social fellowship committee seeks to create opportunities to bond spiritually and participate in monthly activities together. We hope this will lead to deeper relationships with one another, in which men, women, and youth can encourage each other in their spiritual needs and share a common life in Christ as fellow believers.
ELEVATE is a post-high school ministry group that meets at a host family’s house every other Saturday from 7-10 pm. It is geared toward young men and women in our church and community who are transitioning into independent living, marriage and family life, and those seeking God’s purpose for their lives ahead. Our goal as a ministry is to “encourage one another and build each other up” through Christian fellowship and studying God’s Word (1 Thessalonians 5:11). Fellowship time includes group games, worship through singing, Bible study and prayer, and snacks. We even plan group outings for occasional off weeks for extra fellowship time!
“We have seen God move in the lives of young men and women in the group as they seek His direction in their lives. The Lord has led some to further their education, some to start their own businesses, some to serve Him in church ministries, and some have gotten married! As we acknowledge the Lord in all our ways, He is directing our paths as He promised (Prov. 3:5-6).” — Dan Peterson, ELEVATE facilitator
The goal of our Nursery Ministry is to run a safe, clean, and orderly childcare space for 0-2 year-olds. We have experienced women and men who love kids and desire to give them a pleasant experience every week. Our hope is to provide this space so parents can have the opportunity to focus on worship and be fed from the service. Part of our routine in Nursery, once babies are settled, is to have a group reading from The Bible Book, a song time, and a snack.
Our Sunday School ministry takes place every Sunday at 9:30 am before the morning service. This time offers valuable, Scripture-based learning options for every member of the family!
Children aged 3 years through high school are guided through age-appropriate and gospel-centered lessons, covering all the way from Creation to Eternity with an intentional focus on Christ. Our aim is to grow our children and youth in an appreciation for Jesus’ redemptive plan as it is unveiled throughout HIS-tory! Our current curriculum even sneaks in the foundational doctrines of the church, preparing kids for spiritual maturity and adulthood.
Our adult classes often focus on a particular book of the Bible or topic expounded in Scripture. Periodically, these classes are tailored toward specific groups, such as men or women, newcomers, and relationship or family-related studies. As a ministry, we are strongly committed to sharing the love of Jesus with you and your family and provide guidance and fellowship on a weekly basis. Nursery ministry is available for little ones who aren’t quite ready for a structured learning environment.
Junior Church is available every Sunday morning to children aged 3 years through 2nd grade. Our service begins with a time of corporate worship, prayer, and announcements, during which children are with their families. Prior to the sermon, our pastor dismisses the children downstairs. In Junior Church, qualified church members lead our children through Scripture, songs, crafts, and an age-level message, typically based on the same Scripture as the sermon. When the sermon is done, the children are released or kept until parents pick them up per request.
The Awana program is a globally recognized ministry that our church family enthusiastically hosts every school year (September-April). Our children can expect an evening of group worship, activities, scripture memory, and lesson time in their designated age groups. By engaging children 3 years old to 6th grade in Bible-based and Christ-centered lessons, our volunteers can help young hearts grow in a deeper relationship with Jesus and an understanding of the Gospel. By building this foundation, we hope to instill in children a greater love for God, train and equip them to serve God, and encourage them to apply the truths of the Bible to everyday life. At the end of each Awana season, we celebrate all of their progress and achievements with an award ceremony and fellowship time!
Our Awana is held at Faith Baptist Church Wednesday evenings 6:30-8pm during the school season. Theme nights occur throughout the course of the program. Members of Faith Baptist are open to volunteer!
At FBC, we use the Awana curriculum for ages 3 years old to 2nd grade. For 3rd to 6th grade, we use our own “Arsenal” curriculum that is based on the book 100 Verses Every Christian Should Know.
On Wednesday nights through the school year, we welcome students age 3 through 6th grade to join us for Bible study, songs, and games.
